In Canada, the saskatoon berry shrub is native to the prairies, northern Canada, and British Columbia. The name derives from the Cree word misâskwatômin, or saskatoonberry. The fruit is a sweet and slightly nutty little berry that ripens to a deep, warm purple with red tones, which is exactly what this ink is inspired by.
